Electrical Outlet & Switch Installation
We install new outlets and switches throughout your home or business. Whether you need additional outlets in a room, USB outlets for charging devices, or new switches for better lighting control, we handle it all. Every installation is done to code and tested before we leave.
Adding outlets and switches requires running new wiring, installing proper boxes, and making secure connections. We’ll determine the best locations, check your panel capacity, and run the wiring safely. We use the right wire gauge for the circuit, install proper boxes rated for the application, and ensure everything is grounded correctly.
Modern homes need more outlets than older homes were built with. Between phones, laptops, TVs, and other devices, you can never have enough outlets. We’ll add them where you need them, whether that’s in the living room, kitchen, bedrooms, or garage. We also install specialty outlets like GFCI outlets in bathrooms and kitchens, USB outlets for convenience, and tamper-resistant outlets for safety.
Technical Specifications
Outlet and switch installations follow NEC Article 406 and 404 requirements. We use appropriate box types (plastic or metal) rated for the application, ensure proper box volume calculations based on wire fill requirements, install outlets with correct amperage ratings (typically 15A or 20A), and ensure proper grounding with equipment grounding conductors. For GFCI outlets, we install Class A GFCI devices that trip at 4-6mA ground fault current, and we ensure proper line/load connections. We use appropriate wire gauges (14 AWG for 15A circuits, 12 AWG for 20A circuits), maintain proper wire connections using UL-listed devices, and ensure outlets are properly spaced per code requirements (no point along a wall more than 6 feet from an outlet). We also verify circuit loading doesn’t exceed 80% capacity and ensure proper arc-fault protection where required by code.
Common Issues We Solve
