Electrical Panel Replacement and Upgrade

Older electrical panels can’t handle modern electrical demands. If you’re running out of breaker space, your panel is outdated, or you need more capacity for new appliances or EV chargers, it’s time for an upgrade. We replace and upgrade panels to give you the capacity and safety features you need.

Panel replacement involves removing the old panel, installing a new one with adequate capacity, and moving all circuits over safely. We’ll size the new panel based on your current needs and future plans, ensuring you have room to grow. Modern panels include better safety features, more breaker space, and improved reliability.

Many older homes have 100-amp panels that just aren’t enough anymore. Between air conditioning, electric dryers, EV chargers, and all the devices we use today, 200-amp service is often the minimum needed. We’ll assess your electrical usage, recommend the right panel size, and get it installed properly with all necessary permits and inspections.

Technical Specifications

Panel replacement requires calculating electrical load per NEC Article 220, determining proper service size (typically 200A or 400A for residential), and ensuring proper main service conductor sizing (typically 4/0 AWG aluminum or 2/0 AWG copper for 200A service). We install panels rated for the service size, ensure proper main breaker or main lug configuration, verify adequate bus bar ratings, and ensure proper grounding electrode system per NEC Article 250. We install proper main bonding jumper, ensure neutral and ground separation in subpanels, verify proper equipment grounding conductor sizing, and ensure all connections are torqued to manufacturer specifications. We verify proper working clearance per NEC 110.26, ensure proper panel labeling, install arc-fault and ground-fault protection as required by current code, and coordinate with utility company for service upgrades when necessary. All work requires proper permits and inspections.
