Fan Repair

When fans stop working, make noise, wobble, or run at the wrong speed, we can fix them. Most fan problems are fixable—whether it’s a bad motor, loose mounting, wiring issues, or worn-out parts. We’ll diagnose the problem and get your fan working properly again.

Ceiling fans that wobble are usually due to loose mounting, bent blades, or improper balance. We’ll check the mounting hardware, inspect the blades, and balance the fan if needed. Sometimes it’s as simple as tightening screws. Other times, blades need replacement or the motor needs attention.

Fans that don’t turn on might have wiring problems, bad switches, or motor issues. We’ll check the electrical connections, test the switches and controls, and diagnose the motor if needed. Many fan repairs are straightforward once we identify the problem. If the motor is shot, we can replace it or recommend a new fan if that makes more sense.

Technical Specifications

Fan repair requires diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues. We test for proper voltage at the fan (typically 120V), verify circuit continuity, check switch functionality, and test motor windings for proper resistance. We check for proper grounding, verify wire connections are secure, test capacitor functionality for motors with capacitors, and verify proper blade attachment and balance. We check mounting hardware torque, verify proper box support, test speed control functionality, and ensure proper lubrication of motor bearings where applicable. We verify proper blade pitch, check for bent or damaged blades, test pull chain or wall switch operation, and ensure all electrical connections meet NEC requirements. For exhaust fans, we verify proper motor operation, check vent damper functionality, and ensure proper CFM output.
